I subbed in a 6th grade class during my prep period today.  During class, one of the boys asked if he could pass out the second set of papers that I had.  I already had planned for another girl to pass them out, so I told him no.

Boy (to Girl):  Hey, let me pass some of them out.  You owe me!

Girl:  I don’t owe you!  You owe me!  Remember?  I saved you from my sister.

Boy (with wide eyes):  Oh, yeah…

Girl (to me):  My sister had a thing for him.

Me:  Oh, yeah?  Your sister liked him?

Girl:  My sister was IN LOVE with him. 

Boy (with a worried, tortured look on his face):  Yeah.

Girl:  But he’s in sixth grade and she’s in first.

Boy (still with the tortured look on his face):  It was really awkward…

I just started laughing.
