Dad finished watching whatever he recorded and flipped over to the LA Clippers game.

Dad (happily):  My Clippers are winning!

Me:  “Your” Clippers?

Dad:  Yes, “my” Clippers. 

Me:  I know, I know—that’s your new favorite team.

Dad:  I have two favorite teams now.  The other one is the New York Knicks—

Me (interrupting):  Just because of Jeremy Lin?

Dad:  Of course!  I haven’t watched a game yet, though.  I’ve only seen the highlights.

[Short pause.]

Me:  You’ve never watched them play a game, but they’re your favorite team?

Dad (smiling big):  Yep!

That made me laugh a lot.
